What it actually does
Not a dashboard. A daemon.
01 — Track
Live quotas across 15 providers.
Session, weekly, and monthly limits update the moment a request lands. Color-coded gauges in the menu bar, reset countdowns and pace markers in the popover, history and billing in the dashboard. Stop refreshing browser tabs.
02 — Route
Local proxy for Claude Code.
Run multiple Anthropic accounts side-by-side. Map ~/work to your Pro seat, ~/personal to your Free quota via .envrc. Token borrowing flips you to a spare profile mid-session when the active one runs dry, and back the moment your own quota resets. Terminals, VS Code, Cursor and Claude Desktop all follow the same rules.
03 — Spend
Know what every token is worth.
The Claude and Codex popovers estimate what your traffic would cost at pay-as-you-go prices, per day and per model. DeepSeek shows where the month's spend went, OpenRouter shows what is left on your key, and Claude's plan, charges and invoices are right inside AIMeter.
The dashboard
Every provider. One clear view.
Overview answers what needs you first: what is running low, what resets next, which balances are prepaid, and what is routing through AIMeter. Each provider gets its own page with usage history, plan and billing.
Folder-based routing
Pin every project to the right account.
AIMeter runs a local HTTP proxy on 127.0.0.1:2456. Set ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL per directory via direnv, and every claude call from that folder is auto-routed.
No token export. No env clutter. Switch directories and the right OAuth profile is already attached.
- Guided setup. Connect an account, then switch on terminal routing with one button. Every folder rule says whether it is active, or exactly what is in the way.
- VS Code and Cursor. One click configures Claude Code in each editor, and Remove takes it back out. Each editor shows whether AIMeter is routing it or it is quietly spending its own Claude account.
- Claude Desktop. The Code tab follows your folder rules and default profile too.
- Live default switching. Change your default account and every open terminal and editor session follows. No restart.
# ~/work/.envrc export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL="http://127.0.0.1:2456/work" # ~/personal/.envrc export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL="http://127.0.0.1:2456/personal" # ~/work $ claude ↳ routed to work profile · 73% used # ~/personal $ claude ↳ routed to personal profile · 12% used
One CLI. Ten backends.
Run Claude Code on any model.
AIMeter installs shell wrappers for every external provider. Type kimi instead of claude and your existing workflow runs on Kimi K2 instead of Anthropic. Same prompts, same agents, same memory — different model. No config edits.
kimikimicodeglmsynclaudeopenrouterminimaxdeepseekmimoclaudeclaudexantigLocal or LAN Ollama models work as routing targets too (beta), and wrapper providers keep named model presets you switch from a dropdown.
Built for daily use
Every surface, instrumented.
Active Sessions
See every running claude process live — profile label, working directory, PID, runtime ticker. Know exactly which account is burning quota right now.
Account failover
Codex multi-account: when one account hits 429, AIMeter auto-rotates to the next. Sign in once per account via PKCE, then never think about it.
Threshold alerts
Native macOS notifications at warning (80%) and critical (90%) by default — per-provider configurable, kept in Notification Center, with Snooze for an hour or until the quota resets.
OpenRouter key tracking
Your key's spending limit, what is left, when it resets, and what you spent today, this week, this month and in total. Add an optional management key to see your account's credit too.
Usage-limit resets
When Claude or Codex hands you a one-time limit reset, it shows up in the popover with a button to use it. AIMeter asks first, because a used reset cannot be undone.
Usage in your terms
Read each provider as used or left, choose which provider the menu bar shows, and switch to a monochrome menu bar style for a cleaner look on any wallpaper.
Service status
Live Claude and Codex health with uptime (60 days for Claude, 90 for Codex) and the active incident surfaced the moment something breaks. Know when it is them, not you.
DeepSeek, in detail
Sign in with your browser, no API key needed. Every balance you hold in USD and CNY, where the month's spend went, and whether you are inside a peak-price window right now, in your own timezone.
Keep Mac Awake
One toggle, or the coffee-bean button in the menu bar, stops your Mac and its display from sleeping so long AI sessions keep running while you step away.
Share-safe screenshots
Copy a Claude quota screenshot with dollar amounts and billing dates masked while you still see your own, or turn on Hide Personal Information to mask your email and account name.
CLI Tools
Detects 15 coding agents, from Claude Code, Codex and Gemini to Cursor, Aider, Amp and Ollama, with each one's version and location, or a one-click install command.
Updates itself
A downloaded update applies on its own once AIMeter is idle: no routed AI traffic for 10 minutes and no window open. Nothing to click, no stale version running for days.
Your data stays on your Mac.
Tokens live in the macOS Keychain and the proxy runs on 127.0.0.1. The only thing sent home is anonymous usage stats (app and macOS version, feature counts, error reports), never your prompts, code or account data. One switch in Settings turns it off.
Stop guessing your quota.
